Hi! 👋 My name is Sara and today I want to shed light on a transformative experience that has been a fundamental part of my professional journey: working in an international environment surrounded by individuals from diverse countries and cultures.

The impact of this experience on collaboration and personal growth cannot be overstated. The experience has given me three important qualifications that can add value to my work methods:

Expanding Horizons and Breaking Barriers 🌍

Interacting with people from different backgrounds opens a world of new ideas and approaches. It challenges our preconceived notions, broadens our horizons, and encourages us to think beyond the conventional.  

My Swedish colleague Ida Hardarsson agrees with this statement:  

“For me, it is a nice challenge to work with other cultures because you do have different backgrounds in the way of working, so when you come from Sweden as I do, you get so used to working and solving tasks in one way, so when I eventually took the step to work abroad, I could see that there are other ways of working and thinking – and that makes you grow both professionally and personally”

Challenging your way of thinking 🧠 

I have started to think of working in an international environment as being part of a rich tapestry, with everyone representing a unique thread. The mix of various nationalities brings forth a diverse range of perspectives, skills, and experiences that you can learn from and add to your list of qualifications.   

Ida adds: 

“You can add the whole experience to your CV because you can bring something home if you decide to go home again. But also if you decide to work abroad again, then you will have your whole world at your feet. So once you start working abroad, you develop your language skills, you develop in different business areas, and then it will be even easier if you want to move to another country in the future. So moving abroad once will open the door to so many possibilities for the future.” 

The experience of collaborating with individuals from various nations has taught me that diversity is not just about representation; it's about the wealth of knowledge and innovation that arises when unique perspectives come together.
