Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia. It is bordered by the beautiful river Danube. It was the Celts that created the settlement around 2000 years ago, and it used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary. It was during the division of Czechoslovakia that Bratislava became the capital of Slovakia, in 1993.
The city is surrounded by forests, vineyards and cycling trails, providing the perfect location for different interests. The city also has many universities, museums, theatres, and galleries for the cultural crowds. The currency in Slovakia used to be the Slovak crown, however, has been the Euro since 2009.
Bratislava is a beautiful city with a rich history and definitely worth a trip.
